Who they are and what they do
BUGGYFIT
Meet 1.30pm on Wednesdays by the main gate and 10.00am on Fridays. BUGGYFIT is a fitness class for new mums wanting to get back into shape after the birth of their baby. It is a power walking class combined with strengthening and toning exercises and can help in losing post natal weight and gaining a toned body. Local Buggyfit instructor Liz Royston-Bishop is currently running Buggyfit session in the park at 1.30pm on Wednesday afternoons and at 10.00am on Friday mornings. The sessions last for approximately 1 hour. You and your baby will enjoy the fresh air and the chance to meet other mums and their babies. BEAUMONT PARK PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP
Meet once a month in the visitor centre. What started as a one day workshop in October 2003 has now blossomed into a group keen to improve their photography skills and camera techniques. They hold an annual exhibition in June. See the calendar for full details.
PARENT & TODDLER GROUP
Meet on Thursdays 9.30am to 11.30am in the visitor centre. Each session costs £1 per adult and baby. Janette Grady is the co-ordinator. Friendly and welcoming group - just turn up.
NATIONAL CHILDBIRTH TRUST (NCT)
Mothers with babies meet in the visitor centre every Monday (except Bank Holidays) 10.00am to 12.00noon. See the calendar for full details.
BEAUMONT PARK SOCIAL HISTORY GROUP
Meet on the first Tuesday of each month. This is a new venture co-ordinated by Ken Kaye and will run from October 2008 through to March 2009.
BEAUMONT PARK HEALTH WALKERS
Meet in the visitor centre Fridays 2.00pm for a short walk around the area and refreshments afterwards. A relaxing way to meet new friends and get a little exercise. Everyone welcome.
NORDIC WALKING
A Kirklees run event. Tuition given by Kirklees Ranger Julian Brown and Park Warden Diane Clifford. Nordic walking poles and tuition provided free of charge. Walking boots recommended. See the calendar for full details.
