Social History Course starting 7 October

UNCOVERING HUDDERSFIELD'S PAST

An opportunity to widen your knowledge of local social history at six meetings to be held on the first Tuesday of each month.

Introductory meeting Tuesday 7th October 2008 (subsequent meetings 4th November - 3 March 2009.  From 10am to approximately 12.15pm.

Visiting speakers with local knowledge of a specific topic will be invited to attend from time to time.   A senior representative of the Kirklees Local History Dept has kindly consented to attend our first meeting to advise us how to access the wealth of local photographs and archive material held at the library and the Tolson Museum for the purpose of our own private studies.

Members will be requested to pay £2 per meeting to help cover the running costs of the project and will be limited to 35 owing to the modest size of the visitor centre.

If you wish to be involved with this exciting new project, please leave your name and contact details at the Friends of Beaumont Park office 01484 645217 or email friends@fobp.co.uk or telephone the course organiser Mr Ken Kaye 01484 663625 for further details.
