Terry Potter remembers Mr Middleton
Terry Potter played in the park as a youngster when Mr Middleton was Park Keeper, he knew of Mr Middleton because his daughter, Ann, was in his class at school. Terry says " in those days we would regularly get chased for riding our bikes or 'Bird Nesting' in the park and I can also recall trains running from Meltham through the bottom of the park. Another memory was a friend breaking his arm whilst climbing trees at the Butternab Road end. As a young kid we were told that there was a tunnel which led from the park across the valley and we spent hours looking for it but to no avail. Was there really a tunnel?"
