ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND
Despite a dreadful weather forecast our events organiser, Anne Mallinson, said that the Proms & Picnic would go ahead. The weather was cool but we only had a few spots of rain and we were very pleased with the numbers who turned out. Most came well wrapped up to brave the cold. Lindley Band, led by Neil Jowett, was superb. St Barnabas Church choir and guests from the Huddersfield Choral Society led the singing after the interval. Neil had us dancing the military twostep and waving our union jacks.
The visitor centre was busy with the annual photography exhibition and we thank everyone who took the time to vote for their favourite picture.
We also thank the Longwood Scouts and volunteers who tidied the bandstand area prior to the event.
