OVER 2,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED OUR HERITAGE DAY 2009
The sun shone occasionally and we thank everyone who supported our Heritage Day. Saddleworth Morris Dancers added colour to the event with their decorated hats and outfits. The miniature railway was a great attraction together with the Punch and Judy shows, Donkeys on the playing field and the fairground rides.
Stalls were restricted to a Heritage theme. Organisations who attended were:
The Badger Protection Group, RAFA (Royal Air Force Association), Lockwood Baptist Church, Huddersfield Geology Group, Friends of Beaumont Park Photography Group and Vintage Tractors.
Slaithwaite Brass Band attracted large crowds around the bandstand.
Cllr. Julie Stewart-Turner, Mayor of Kirklees and her consort Daryl.
