Planning permission was granted on 9 February 2010 for the Reinstatement of the Beaumont Park Bandstand.  Emma Mills (Kirklees Property & Design Services) has contacted bandstand manufacturers to supply quotes for the work.  Maryke Woods, Kirklees Culture and Leisure services and FoBP will shortly be putting together the bid for the construction part of the bandstand.

The Bandstand Exhibition and Consultation Event was well attended and we thank everyone for coming and giving their views.    The exhibition boards are still on view in the visitor centre.

The photographs below show visitors completing questionnaires, ordering refreshments and viewing the exhibition boards.

Work began on 1 February 2011 preparing the bandstand base for the
reinstatement of the bandstand.  The preparatory work will take about
two weeks.  Parts of the bandstand are being constructed elsewhere
and will be put into place in a few weeks time.  Improvement of the paths
and landscaping work of the adjacent area will also commence shortly.
