POND DIPPING PLATFORM COMPLETED

The pond dipping platform on the Lower Pond was completed on 18 March 2010 by BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers).  A Community Grant was given by Kirklees Council to FoBP in partnership with Crosland Moor Junior School.

The area around the pond will be planted up  shortly and new fencing will be erected.  Schools can come and use the area for pond dipping.

There is a national pond survey in Summer Term 2010 (THE OPAL WATER SURVEY) which anyone can take part in.  A free training event for teachers takes place at the Visitor Centre, Beaumont Park on Tuesday 25 May 4pm to 5.30pm.  Leaders of scout groups or anyone leading a group may apply.

Download the application form OPAL WATER SURVEY or see the website www.field-studies-council.org/opal-register
