Orienteering in Beaumont Park

Beaumont Park has a permanent orienteering course, designed by East Pennine Orienteering Club, to give you the chance to try a non-competitive or leisure form of this popular activity.  Orienteering is an exciting outdoor sport that exercises both the mind and the body.  The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time.  It doesn’t matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.

All the markers South from the visitor centre are wheel friendly (bandstand direction).

The course in  Beaumont Park has three options to choose from.

The downloadable map includes guidance on how to complete the course, and you can find out more about orienteering on the East Pennine Orienteering Club website

Download a map from the East Pennine Orienteering Club website or pick one up in the Visitor Centre.
