The new Play Area was opened quietly on 15 December 2021. The community have loved it and there are always children playing on the equipment – rain or shine. Friends of Beaumont Park supported the project to the tune of £74.700 which includes a generous grant from West Yorkshire Freemasons for £24,700 specifically for kit for children with disabilities. We are pleased to report that all children are enjoying the experience with one Mum contacting us via Facebook to say how touched she was to see her son, who is a fulltime wheelchair user, enjoying the play area and able to join in as his friends do. The working partnership with Kirklees Council extended from the consultation stage to the final sign off. A sign recognising the achievements of all is to be erected in the area.
